Paris Saint-Germain’s number one target to replace Unai Emery as manager is Mauricio Pochettino, according to reports.
RMC suggest Emery could be sacked immediately, following Paris’ defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League round-of-16.
Despite sitting 14 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table, Emery’s main goal was to guide one of the richest clubs in Europe into the latter stages of Europe’s premier cup competition.
And now that he has failed that task for two successive years, the 46-year-old could be dismissed in the coming days.
Paris chiefs have already drawn up a five-man shortlist of replacements for Emery, and Mauricio Pochettino, the Tottenham boss, is said to be their number one target.
However, the French club are aware Pochettino is unlikely to leave Spurs during the season, meaning they will attempt to lure him to Paris this summer.
Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona boss, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Chelsea’s Antonio Conte, and Carlo Ancelotti, the ex-PSG coach who is currently out of work, make up the rest of the shortlist.
