Hamburg are ready to offer Tatsuya Ito a new contract in attempt to ward off interest from Inter Milan and Manchester City.
The 20-year-old has been tipped for a big future and he has impressed at times this season.
The winger's performances have caught the eye of Inter Milan and Manchester City and both clubs have been linked with approaches in January.
Hamburg have no desire to sell Ito and, according to Sport Bild, they are ready to offer him a new contract.
The German club hope fresh terms will convince the Japanese star to stay put rather than leaving in January.
Ito has been with Hamburg since July 2015 when he joined the club's youth academy.
